1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Many pastors believe that there is a gap between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. Many pastors also believe that there is no gap between these two verses. I believe that Genesis 1:2 is expounding on Genesis 1:1. I think of Genesis 1:1 as the news headline and the verses that follow explain the headline. What do you think?
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Earth without form and void
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

There are those who insist that we should celebrate Saturday as GOD's day and others insist on celebrating Sunday as GOD's day. I celebrate everyday as GOD's day because GOD made everyday. " This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24 KJV And " For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." Romans 1:20-21 KJV
